Grand Seiko USA announced a pair of US market exclusive GMT models at the Couture 2022 show in Las Vegas. This was a limited edition of 50 units and is available exclusively through Ikeda Plus Tokushima. In addition to the bracelet a navy blue rubber strap is also provided that gives the impression of a white egret standing on the surface of the water. The design has numerous details inspired by the bird with the golden logo and seconds hand reminiscent of the beak, the feathers represented by the dial texture, the blue and black bezel insert representing the sky and ground, and the GMT hand and power reserve representing the bird's black foot. The egret is also known as the "messenger of the gods" and is considered to be an auspicious bird that brings good luck. The model has the nickname Shirasagi Feather which refers to the generic name for herons with all-white plumage including egrets. It uses the 9R66 Spring Drive GMT movement and has a stainless steel case measuring 44mm in diameter and 14.7mm thick. The model has a silver tree bark pattern dial (first introduced with the SBGN017 in 2020), a gray GMT hand, black/blue 24 hour bezel, golden GS logo, and the golden seconds hand that has been a common factor on all five previous Ikeda Plus limited editions. Japanese retailer Ikeda Plus Tokushima released the Grand Seiko SBGE287 "Shirasagi Feather" to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the Ikeda Watch shops founding.
